1. Overview

Safety Route is a family safety application. A parent or legal guardian creates an account, links their child's device using a private link code, and can then monitor the child's location, receive alerts if the child deviates from trusted routes or leaves safe areas, and receive SOS emergency alerts triggered from the child's device.

This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Safety Route you agree to this policy.

2. Information We Collect

Account information. When you register we collect your name, phone number, account role (parent or child), and a password, which is stored only in hashed form. Parent and child accounts are linked using a private link code.

Location data, including background location. Safety Route collects precise GPS location from linked child devices, including in the background — even when the app is closed or not in use — to enable continuous safety monitoring, route-deviation detection, and safe-place (geofence) alerts. Location history and journey data are stored so that parents can review recent trips.

SOS emergency evidence. When a child triggers an SOS alert, the app captures up to three photos from the device camera and an audio recording from the microphone. These are uploaded to secure cloud storage and shared only with the linked parent account as emergency evidence.

Safety configuration. Emergency contacts, safe places (geofenced areas), trusted routes, and app settings you configure.

Device information. Device battery level (shown to the parent) and a push notification token used to deliver alerts.

Data stored on your device. The app keeps a local cache of location history and learned routes on the device (in a local database), and can generate CSV exports of location history when you explicitly choose to export or share them.

3. Children's Privacy

Safety Route is designed for families. Child accounts can only be created and linked to a parent account by a parent or legal guardian using a private link code — this act of setting up and linking the child's device constitutes the parent's verifiable consent to the collection of the child's data described in this policy.

4. How We Use Your Information

Safety Route collects location data in the background, even when the app is closed, to enable continuous safety monitoring of linked child devices. We do not use your data for advertising, profiling unrelated to safety features, or sale to third parties.

5. Sharing and Service Providers

Location data, SOS evidence, and safety configuration are visible only to the accounts in your own family link (the linked parent and child). We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own purposes.

We use Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, Cloud Messaging, and Authentication) as our infrastructure provider to store and transmit data on our behalf. Google acts as a data processor; see Google's Privacy Policy and Firebase Privacy and Security.

We may disclose information if required by law, or where necessary to protect the safety of a child or other users.

6. Security

7. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your data while your account is active. When you delete your account — using the in-app Settings → Delete Account option or by emailing info@yonderai.ai — we delete your account and associated data as described on our account deletion page within 30 days.

8. Your Rights

To exercise any right, or if you have questions, contact info@yonderai.ai.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version at this page and update the effective date above. Material changes will be communicated in the app.
